Baseball in Arcadia

1904 Baseball Game in Arcadia's Ballpark on the Point.

The first ballpark in Arcadia, Michigan was built in the early 1900's. The ball field was in use through the 1930's, when it was moved to an area across the highway from the Big Apple.

The 4th of July celebration included a baseball game or two along with a parade, speeches by local dignitaries, band concerts, and picnics.

Baseball was Arcadia's sport, and team photos show players from all walks of Arcadia's life.

On September 8, 1926, Arcadia played the Illinois Giants with future Negro League legend Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe.
