The Early Days of Baseball in Arcadia

The first ballpark in Arcadia, Michigan was built in the early 1900's. The ball field was in use through the 1930's, when it was moved to an area across the highway from the Big Apple.

Baseball and the 4th of July

The 4th of July celebration included a baseball game or two along with a parade, speeches by local dignitaries, band concerts, and picnics.

On September 8, 1926, Arcadia played the Illinois Giants with future Negro League legend Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe
